πŸͺWhat Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device β€” your computer, phone, or tablet β€” when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, to remember your preferences, and to give website owners information about how their site is being used.

Cookies are not programs β€” they cannot carry viruses, install malware, or access other files on your device. They are simply small data files that help websites function and improve over time. The information stored in a cookie is defined and controlled by the website that sets it.

🎬 How Filmswear Uses Cookies

At Filmswear.com, we use cookies for one reason above all else: to make your shopping experience as smooth and relevant as possible. From keeping your cart intact while you browse to understanding which Hollywood jacket collections are most popular β€” cookies help us serve you better. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles or sell your data to third parties. Ever.

Section 02

πŸ“‚Cookie Categories We Use

We use four distinct categories of cookies on Filmswear.com. Each serves a specific purpose, and only Essential Cookies are active by default without your consent. All other categories require your explicit agreement.

Category 1
Essential Cookies
Always Active
These cookies are strictly necessary for the website to function. Without them, core features like the shopping cart, checkout, and secure login cannot operate. They do not track you or store personal data beyond what is needed for the session.
Examples: Session ID, cart contents, CSRF security token, login state
Category 2
Analytics Cookies
Consent Required
These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with Filmswear.com β€” which pages are most visited, how long customers spend browsing jackets, and where they drop off. All data is aggregated and anonymous.
Examples: Google Analytics (_ga, _gid), page view tracking, session duration
Category 3
Functional Cookies
Consent Required
Functional cookies remember choices you make to give you a better, more personalised experience. They may remember your preferred currency, recently viewed jackets, or language setting so you don't have to reset them each visit.
Examples: Currency preference, recently viewed items, language setting
Category 4
Marketing Cookies
Consent Required
These cookies track your activity to help us and our partners show you relevant Filmswear advertisements on other platforms. They measure the effectiveness of our campaigns. You can opt out at any time without affecting your ability to shop.
Examples: Meta Pixel (Facebook), Google Ads conversion, retargeting identifiers

Section 05

πŸ”—Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies on Filmswear.com are set by third-party services that we use to operate and improve our business. These third parties have their own privacy policies and cookie practices, which are independent of Filmswear.

  • Google Analytics (Alphabet Inc.): Used to analyse website traffic and user behaviour in aggregated, anonymised form. We have enabled IP anonymisation on all Google Analytics tracking.
  • Stripe (Stripe Inc.): Our payment processor may set essential cookies during checkout to enable secure card transactions and fraud prevention. Stripe's cookies are strictly necessary and cannot be disabled without breaking checkout.
  • Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms Inc.): Only active if you have consented to Marketing Cookies. The Meta Pixel tracks conversions from Facebook and Instagram ads. You can opt out via Meta's Ad Preferences at any time.
  • Google Ads (Alphabet Inc.): Only active if you have consented to Marketing Cookies. Tracks ad conversions and supports remarketing. Manage your settings at adssettings.google.com.
  • PayPal (PayPal Holdings Inc.): If you pay via PayPal, their service may set cookies to authenticate your payment session. These are strictly necessary for the payment flow.
What We Never Do With Third-Party Cookies
  • We never sell your cookie data or browsing behaviour to any third party for profit
  • We never allow third parties to use Filmswear cookies to build profiles unrelated to our own marketing
  • We never share personal identifiers (name, email, address) with advertising cookie providers without separate consent
  • We never use cross-site tracking technologies that follow you across unrelated websites
Section 06

βš™οΈManaging Cookies in Your Browser

In addition to our on-site consent controls, every modern browser allows you to view, block, or delete cookies directly. Note that blocking all cookies will prevent the Filmswear checkout from functioning correctly.

⚠️ Important β€” Blocking Essential Cookies

If you block or delete all cookies via your browser, the Filmswear shopping cart, checkout, and login will not function. We recommend using our on-site consent panel to manage optional cookies rather than blocking all cookies at the browser level.

Section 07

πŸ—“οΈCookie Durations & Data Retention

Cookies fall into two categories by duration: session cookies which are deleted when you close your browser, and persistent cookies which remain on your device until they expire or you delete them.

  • Session Cookies: Expire automatically when your browser session ends. Filmswear uses session cookies for login state and CSRF security tokens.
  • Persistent Cookies: Remain on your device for a set period β€” ranging from 24 hours (analytics session tracking) to 2 years (Google Analytics user identifier). See the full table in Section 03 for exact durations per cookie.
  • Consent Cookie (fw_consent): Stored for 12 months. After this period, you will be presented with the consent banner again to refresh your preferences.
  • Analytics Data Retention: Anonymised Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months within Google's systems, as configured in our account, after which it is automatically deleted.
  • Your Right to Early Deletion: You can delete any or all cookies at any time via your browser settings, or by selecting "Withdraw All Optional Cookies" in our Cookie Settings panel in the site footer.
